Hey! I’m Sarah, the creator of The Lazy Mermaid Murals.

I am a Muralist from Cornwall in the UK, living and creating vibrant art in New Zealand since 2014

As you can probably tell by now, I love colour! You’ll find me splashing colour over buildings, walls (interior and exterior,) floors, coffee trailers, electric boxes, shipping containers and even buses! You name it, I’ll probably try to paint it!

I came up with the name The Lazy Mermaid by chance. I was wanting the perfect name for my business that was playful and unique to express my murals and brand.

Then, one day, my neighbours kid came to up see if my daughter wanted to play, when she spotted me under a blanket laid on the sofa (yes when I’m not painting you’ll usually find me horizontal, in our hillside home, with my cat.)

She then (bluntly) informed me that I look like a lazy mermaid. And that was that! The Lazy Mermaid was born.
